At 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, Park Centre Drive becomes a parade route. Downtown Summerlin's Holiday Parade, presented by InTouch Credit Union, promises a trip to the North Pole, artificial snow flurries and Santa Claus at the end. It runs every Friday and Saturday at that same hour through Dec. 19. On those same nights a mile and a half away, Las Vegas Ballpark opens Enchant Christmas to ticketed arrival windows. Tivoli Village holds off until the night before Thanksgiving.
This year Summerlin's holiday season has a weekly rhythm. Each of the three main venues builds its programming around certain nights, and the overlaps are few enough to plan around. Treat the season as a weekly calendar and you can do most of it without repeating a night or paying for anything twice.
The Week at a Glance
This grid runs from the parade's start in late November through mid-December, when every venue is open at once.
| Night | Downtown Summerlin | Tivoli Village | Las Vegas Ballpark |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday | Rock Rink and Santa Chalet open | Enchant open | |
| Tuesday | Rock Rink, Santa Chalet Pet Nights 4 to 8 p.m. | Enchant open | |
| Wednesday | Rock Rink Student Skate Nights on select dates | Enchant, some theme nights | |
| Thursday | Rock Rink, Santa Chalet Pet Nights | Nutcracker Night Market and carriage rides in December | Enchant open |
| Friday | Holiday Parade at 6 p.m. | Carriage rides in December | Enchant, some theme nights |
| Saturday | Holiday Parade at 6 p.m. | Carriage rides in December | Enchant open |
| Sunday | Nutcracker at Rock Rink on select dates | Enchant, some theme nights |
Friday and Saturday Belong to Park Centre Drive
The parade runs five weekends with two nights each, so 10 nights in all from Nov. 20 to Dec. 19. Downtown Summerlin's weekend draw centers on it, and the rest of the district is set up for parade crowds that arrive early and stay late.
Rock Rink opens a week ahead of the parade, on Friday, Nov. 13, on The Lawn. The 8,000-square-foot real-ice rink, presented by Lexus, runs 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Monday, Jan. 18. Rock Rink's page also advertises lower midweek pricing, which comes up again below. A holiday train circles the rink and the holiday tree for $7 per rider, adult or child, and Sterling's Cocoa Trailer serves holiday drinks all season.
Before or after a parade, there's a new spot to eat a few blocks away. Finney's Crafthouse opened Sept. 21 at 10955 Oval Park Drive. It's a sports tavern with a menu of more than 50 items, craft beer and cocktails, and a dog-friendly patio, according to Eater Vegas.
Weeknights Go to the Ice
On weeknights Downtown Summerlin has a different audience in mind. Rock Rink's themed nights mostly fall midweek, and its Student Skate Nights are all on Wednesdays: Nov. 18, Dec. 2, Jan. 6 and Jan. 13. The rest of the programming follows a similar pattern:
- Saturday, Nov. 21: A Night with AEG, with country-themed music celebrating NFR
- Thursday, Dec. 10: Frozen Skate Night
- Wednesday, Dec. 16: Las Vegas Sports Night
- Friday, Dec. 18: A Night with Cirque du Soleil
- Thursday, Jan. 7: Glow Night
- Thursday, Jan. 14: A Very Swiftie Skate Night
Most of the list lands on Wednesdays and Thursdays, the nights the parade isn't running and midweek rink prices apply. Rock Rink's page recommends booking ahead.
The Santa Chalet at Macy's Promenade follows the same weeknight pattern. It opens Nov. 13 and runs through Christmas Eve, Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pet Nights run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m. through Dec. 17. A Sensory Morning is set for Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to noon. Reservations are required, and walk-ups are limited.
The Chalet's prices also change by calendar, and the gap is large. The same photo package, two printed 5x7s and three digital images, costs:
- $39.99 from Nov. 14 to 25
- $42.99 from Nov. 27 to Dec. 10
- $49.99 from Dec. 11 to 24
The last stretch costs 25 percent more than the first. A family that books before Thanksgiving pays $10 less for the same photos than one that books the week before Christmas. Downtown Summerlin runs a second package with the same pricing: Holiday Family Photos, offered without Santa during the first and last hour of each day, Nov. 13 to 25, for $39.99.
Sundays Have Their Own Program
Sundays at Downtown Summerlin are built around scheduled performances. The Nutcracker at Rock Rink plays on The Lawn three Sundays this season: Nov. 22 at 6 p.m., then Dec. 6 and Dec. 20 at 10:45 a.m. On the afternoon of Dec. 6, the Hanukkah Celebration moves to Park Centre Drive from 4 to 6 p.m., with a menorah lighting, children's activities and live entertainment.
Two lower-key additions arrive before all of this. The Giving Machine opens Nov. 12, and Santa's Mailbox follows on Nov. 13, according to Downtown Summerlin's events calendar.
Thursday Moves to Tivoli Village
Tivoli Village starts later and keeps to a narrower schedule. Its season opens with the Annual Tree Lighting on Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. The program includes holiday music, a Sugarplum Fairy and Nutcracker meet-and-greet, the Reindeer Rockettes and a Make-A-Wish wish-granting moment. RSVP through the event page.
In December, Thursdays belong to Tivoli. The Nutcracker Night Market fills The Piazza on Thursdays in December starting Dec. 3, from 4 to 8 p.m., with local artisans, live entertainment and family activities. Horse-drawn carriage rides start the same night and run Thursdays through Saturdays, Dec. 3 to 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. A ride costs $20 for up to five family members, and all proceeds go to Make-A-Wish Nevada.
Thursday is the one night with nothing scheduled on Park Centre Drive and something scheduled at Tivoli, so Tivoli has it largely to itself. A Thursday at Tivoli can also include dinner. Yu by Sijie opened Aug. 7 at 400 South Rampart Boulevard inside the village, serving Peking duck and dim sum, per Eater Vegas.
The Ballpark Is Open Every Night
Enchant Christmas at Las Vegas Ballpark runs Nov. 20 through Dec. 27, so it outlasts the parade by eight days. General admission starts at $27 and changes with the date, entry time and demand. Ice skating, a snow slide and some other activities cost extra. This year's version promotes a reimagined maze story, new photo spots, seasonal food and drink, Santa, live entertainment and a shopping village.
Enchant scatters its theme nights across the whole week, parade nights included. Enchant says theme nights are included with admission, though a few activities may carry an add-on charge. According to its ticket calendar, the dates are:
- Friday, Nov. 20: Opening Night
- Sunday, Nov. 22: Family Photo Night Out
- Wednesday, Nov. 25: Friendsgiving
- Sunday, Nov. 29: Holiday Sing-A-Long
- Wednesday, Dec. 2: Country Christmas, with a Country Line Dancing Lesson
- Friday, Dec. 4: Storybook Night
- Sunday, Dec. 6: Paws n Claus
- Thursday, Dec. 10: Night of Honor
Pet owners get a pet-friendly option on nearly every kind of night. Paws n Claus covers a Sunday at the Ballpark, and the Santa Chalet's Pet Nights cover Tuesdays and Thursdays. Finney's patio welcomes dogs any night of the week.
Thanksgiving Week Breaks the Pattern
For one week the venues' separate schedules overlap. Between Sunday, Nov. 22, and Sunday, Nov. 29, each venue puts something on the calendar, and a few nights stack up:
| Date | What's on |
|---|---|
| Sun., Nov. 22 | Nutcracker at Rock Rink at 6 p.m.; Enchant Family Photo Night Out |
| Wed., Nov. 25 | Tivoli Tree Lighting, 5 to 8 p.m.; Enchant Friendsgiving; last day of $39.99 Santa Chalet and family photo pricing |
| Thu., Nov. 26 | Life Time Turkey Trot from the Ballpark; Thanksgiving menus at Red Rock Casino |
| Fri., Nov. 27 | Parade at 6 p.m.; Santa Chalet pricing moves to $42.99 |
| Sat., Nov. 28 | Parade at 6 p.m. |
| Sun., Nov. 29 | Enchant Holiday Sing-A-Long |
Wednesday, Nov. 25, is the busiest night of the season. Tivoli lights its tree, Enchant hosts Friendsgiving, and it's the last day to book Santa Chalet or family photos at the $39.99 rate.
Thanksgiving morning starts at the Ballpark. The Life Time Las Vegas Turkey Trot offers a 5K and a 1-mile course. The 5K leaves from Las Vegas Ballpark and finishes at Life Time Summerlin, where a pool-deck after-party follows. Registration is open. Later in the day, Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa serves Thanksgiving menus at select restaurants.
After that week the venues go back to their usual nights. Fridays and Saturdays are for the parade, Thursdays go to Tivoli's market and carriages, and Enchant at the Ballpark stays open every night through Dec. 27. Rock Rink stays open into mid-January, after everything else has closed. Its last themed night, A Very Swiftie Skate Night, is Thursday, Jan. 14.
